Whenever I print SOME message must make it to the printer because as soon as I hit print the printer starts making noise as if it is going to load paper and print, but then almost immediately it cancels the print. The printer scans w/o a problem, it can tell me the ink levels and access the maintenance page w/o problems, but cannot print. I installed it fresh initially with the drivers from the Epson website, I selected the Bonjour option, I was even able to download whatever update was out there through the Software Update feature, but still the same issue. Like many others I am having problems but none of the posted solutions work for me. I'm about to give up.I just purchased a new Macbook Pro (13") - my first ever Mac - and am trying to get it to print with my Epson Artisan 810. What in the world could be causing my iMac to lose contact with the printer like this? That doesn't affect my MBA? Thoughout this session, my MBA can print to this printer without issue. At this point, I tried to scan (using Image Capture) but it shows no devices connected.I'm very suspicious that if I power cycled my printer, I'd get another print job out of it.However, using that same utility to print a test page results in NOTHING (no message, no anything). I tried to look at supply levels using the utilities and it still worked.I printed the Preview session without issue.I powered the printer back on and let it fully connect to the network.I then tried to print from a Preview session-"Looking for printer" again, argh!!.I viewed the supply levels using the utility! and then printed a test page using the utility!!.Once the printer was fully connected to the network, I added it again and now an Artisan 810 (type = Bonjour Multifunction) showed up immediately.I then powered down the printer and powered it back on.I tried to add the printer but it still did not report in (just the fax again).Printing also fails-"Looking for printer".Now, I can't even scan the supply levels (using the System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners utilities.I finally added the fax but specified an Artisan 810 driver. ![]() The printer never did appear on the list (this behavior is different than my MBA where the printer will eventually report in). In the process, the fax (same device) reports in-after about a 20-30 sec delay. I repaired disk permissions one more time.I found many dozen disk permission issues in the printers folder, so I repaired all permissions.Let me share my latest attempts and results: My iMac seems to lose track of this printer after one successful operation-and I keep running across mentions of Bonjour-it makes me wonder if that service is somehow related to this problem. In fact, I went through various options and cnet reviews looking for another printer and it re-energized me to get this working. ![]() ![]() Thanks for the comment-I do agree this is a great printer, which is why I've tried to keep it going. However, if I choose to Print Test Page, nothing happens. I've also leaned that I can open the printer utility using System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners and clean the print heads, query ink levels, etc with no issue. I got no message on the iMac about allowing incoming network connections to epsontcpip. On the iMac, I just saw two entries show up in the Add (printer) menu-one kind was "Bonjour Multifunction" and the other was "Epson Fax". I chose Allow and received one each for the printer and fax (same device). The MBA, unlike my iMac, asked me if I wanted the application epsontcpip to accept incoming network connections. My MBA was also seeing the printer not found, so I simply deleted the printer and re-added it and it works flawlessly from the (Yosemite) MBA. ![]() Looking at the print queue, it tells me "Printing - Looking for printer" until it finally fails and tells me "Stopped - 'Filter' failed, 1 page", I have the same results whether the printer is hooked up wired or wirelessly. I can also view and manipulate the printer via a browser at it's ip address. I can view the ink supply levels on the device using the System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners interface. Unfortunately, I've now lost the ability to print at all from my iMac yet the scanner (same device) is detected and works just fine using Image Capture. Thanks for the suggestion, this procedure sounded like exactly what I'm looking for.
